Le PVC veut tripler son recyclage

L’industrie européenne du PVC a annoncé ce 22 juin ses plans pour tripler la quantité de PVC recyclé d’ici 2020. L’initiative VinylPlus se fonde sur le programme Vinyl 2010, qui fut une réussite, en permettant de collecter et recycler 250.000 tonnes de PVC par an.
 
Le programme qui va suivre a relevé l’objectif à 800.000 tonnes de PVC par an d’ici 2020, dont un huitième «devra être traité en utilisant des technologies innovantes», afin de faire face aux produits difficiles à recycler.
 
L’industrie compte également introduire un nouveau système de certification et d’étiquetage pour aider les utilisateurs à identifier et donner priorité au PVC produit de manière durable. VinylPlus peut même se targuer du soutien effectif d’une ONG, The Natural Step.
